PROFILE OF ONABOLU OMOLOLA BIDEMI (MRS.)

Onabolu Omolola Bidemi, FCA, is a distinguished finance professional in the Lagos State public sector, bringing over fifteen years of hands-on experience in Accounting, Treasury operations, Pension Administration, and Public Debt Issuance. She combines rigorous technical expertise with strategic leadership to strengthen financial governance and ensure transparency in the course of her duties.

Mrs. Omolola graduated from Babcock University in 2008 with a Second-Class Upper Division in Accounting. She attained Associate membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2013 and was honored as a Fellow of the Noble Institute in 2024. Further enhancing her investigative and analytical skills, she earned an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Accounting and Criminal Intelligence from the University of Lagos in 2018.She is also certified in International Public Sector Accounting Standards by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Her career began in 2010 as an Accountant II (GL08) at the State Treasury Office after which she was deployed to the Local Government Establishments and Pension Department. In 2011, Mrs. Omolola was among the pioneer accountants at the newly established Lagos State Safety Commission, developing core accounting processes and overseeing Subvention and Take-Off Grant management until her advancement to Senior Accountant (GL10) in 2014.

Since 2015, she has functioned in the Debt Management Office but assumed the role of Head, Public Finance Bond Issuance and Regulatory Matters Department in 2022. In this role, Mrs. Omolola leads all processes prior to the issuance of all Bonds as well as co-ordinating regulatory matters amongst other crucial tasks. Her mentorship of other colleagues and her drive to standardize workflows have elevated departmental efficiency and accuracy.

With a proven track record of pioneering a new Finance & Account department and steering high-value debt & hybrid instrument transactions, Mrs. Onabolu is recognized for her unwavering commitment to fiscal integrity and her ability to deliver sustainable funding solutions that support the State’s development objectives.
